JMARS (Java Mission-planning and Analysis for Remote Sensing) is a Java-based geospatial information system developed by the Mars Space Flight Facility at Arizona State University. This software is used for mission planning and scientific data analysis by several NASA missions, including Mars Odyssey, Mars Global Surveyor, Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, and the up-coming Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter.
The Mars Space Flight Facility is pleased to announce that JMARS has been released as an Open Source project, under the GPL license.
JMARS source can be downloaded via Subversion, and tickets/documentation are available via links to the left.
JMARS can simultaneously display multiple datasets (such as maps, image footprints, numerical data products, etc) collected by instruments on several current and past NASA missions, such as:
